I now have to admit i am a 100% converteee. It was fantastic. Our daughter Molly (5) loved it, although she seemed to have a hidden agenda to tip us all out, but never the less we made it all the way without incident. It started with a bang - as a car rollled off the slipway onto the beach where the canoes were only metres away - complete with dazed wife in the passenger seat (hubby had gone to the loo while waiting for the car ferry and forgotten to put on the hand brake!) We first learnt about our envirnoment and had a saftey briefing, we then learnt about what we should carry with us. We also learnt about the canoe its self. We learnt everything from where to sit to how to paddle. louise and i made it down the river to our stop points without falling out of the boat and, more surprisingly, with each other. We have been trying to find other places to paddle. Also this has also been made very difficult as the weather has been so bad. ( sorry we are only fair weather paddles) Today we went to Fowey for the first time. We met a couple of other paddles who invited us ( once again thank you) and it was amazing. There are toilets, you can park allday at the carpark and the slipway ... We watched a video that explained how to roll and why it was important to be able to. The whole experience was brilliant we had a great time. It was our first time in a sit in and our first ever rolls. It was great as it was a small group and a really friendly atmosphere. We have learnt loads, and it has given me more confidence on the water. We would both be interested in doing this again. It has given us both a brief ...
